Where in God's vast universe is Mingo Junction?

Mingo Junction - The hottest town on the internet!

Mingo Junction is a small steel mill town located in eastern Ohio along the Ohio River.  The population of the village is 3,631, including dogs and cats.   There have been many interesting stories about Mingo from surveying visits by George Washington, to the number one song, "Play That Funky Music," by Mingo's own "Wild Cherry".  I hope to capture some of those stories with this web site.

The Mingo web site was first uploaded to the Internet during December of 1995. At the time, there were only two other sites from the Ohio Valley listed on the major search engines, the University of Steubenville and Welsh's Jaguar Museum. Today there are thousands of Ohio Valley web sites. This site is a collection of pictures, stories, lists, videos, and facts about Mingo Junction and the Upper Ohio Valley, a digital archive, of its history.

There is a line from the movie "The Wizard of Oz," that says, "there's no place like home," well, if you have ever called Mingo Junction your home, you know that Dorothy wasn't fooling.  Enjoy the site and spread the word because Mingo Junction is on the 'net!

There is no greater honor than to lay down your life for your country These valley residents have died in Operation Iraqi Freedom and in the war in Afghanistan. God bless them and their families. Support America's brave men and women and their families. The War on Terror is not over.

Dear Nial,

You have a fantastical site here. I used to watch the television show about your city back in the 1960s. Although, I recall it being named Petticoat Junction back then. How is Uncle Joe? Is he still movin' kinda slow? Anyways, keep up the good work.

Best wishes,
